Right to information Bill 2005 as passed by the two houses of Parliament, received the ascent of the President on 15th June 2005.The act aims at providing for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizen to secure access to information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working. West Central Railway has to initiate necessary action to ensure implementation of the provisions of the act within the stipulated time frame. Accordingly PIOs, APIOs, Appellate Authority and Nodal officer have been nominated in various departments, divisions, workshops and other units of WCR. Manuals, Code, Documents, Records and other information are being uploaded on WCR website (www.westcentralrailway.com).
